Our Story
When Erin Nissen, founder of Durango Animal Connection, first laid eyes on Cricket and her five scraggly, malnourished puppy siblings, she knew she’d found her calling. Anemic and tick-ridden, Cricket could barely walk, so Nissen would sit with her in her lap every day for a week till, one morning, Cricket was bounding around the grass, playing with her brothers and sisters, newfound life in her big brown eyes.
